This wonderful antique Victorian Scottish Silver Malachite Leaf brooch is Circa 1900.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.

The beautiful brooch is set with two rich green Malachite stones depicting a Scottish leaf.

Malachite means Mallow-green stone, due to its resemblance to the leaves of the Mallow plant. The stone radiates the rich green allure of nature displaying the beauty of plants and trees within it’s patterned surface.

Hair line fissures are present on the Malachite’s but this is minimal wear for it’s age.

All set in a beautifully engraved Silver gallery and complete with Pin and C-catch.

The brooch is a fabulous piece of Victorian history and looks beautiful when worn.

Weighs 11.2 grams.

Measures 41mm across x 34mm down x 10mm depth.

Excellent condition for it’s age.
