A true Danish freehand, handmade in Denmark, this Bjarne Hand Carved estate pipe has both a rim and shank's facing of plateau from the outer edge of the briar burl from which it's been carved.  Fitted with a fancy ebonite stem, this large and wide chambered smoker is finished smooth with some modestly dense grain and does have plenty of minor handling marks in the finish.  Tapered in the chamber and drilled with a draft hole all the way at the bottom, this Danish sitter is in outstanding condition with an excellent open draw to support its large capacity.
